Pastor Eric preached from Romans 8:18-25 this past Sunday. Our present experience does not indicate our future reality. The suffering we experience now is preparing us for the glorious future that God has promised.

This past Sunday, we treated the small group leaders and ministry leaders of Sovereign Grace Church to an afternoon of free coffee and dangerous sports (check the pics!). It was a small way to say "thank you!" for the many selfless ways they serve us.
Make sure to thank God for them.
It's easy to be disappointed in marriage. It's easy for our hopes and dreams to be dashed. Our expectations of married life are not as rosy as we imagined.
We buy into the delusion that our biggest problem is outside of us. We blame our spouse. We blame our circumstances. We rarely take seriously the nature of our own sin.
If you would like to learn and grow, attend the "What Did You Expect?" Marriage Conference hosted by our sister church, Sovereign Grace Church of Pasadena. It's a Friday evening and Saturday in February to work on the very things that make marriage challenging. Take advantage of this opportunity.
Our first ever Men's Retreat is coming up in April. The topic is "Men On A Mission: Living for Jesus in Our Global City." Three days of singing, teaching, eating, and competing. Our keynote speaker is the Executive Director of our denomination, Mark Prater.
We have enlisted "Fake Mark Prater" on Facebook and Twitter to help us promote the retreat. He will be providing you with all of the best tips and tricks to make the most of your time on the mountain. Like him on Facebook and/or follow him on Twitter.
So make sure you register right away.
Starting Point is a half-day class designed to help you know who we are and what we love. You will get concentrated time relating to our pastors, learning about our values, and understanding what it means to be a member at Sovereign Grace Church.
The next class is on Saturday, January 27th from 9:00am-1:00pm. Childcare and lunch are provided.
On Sunday, Pastor Eric preached Romans 8:12-17 introducing a new theological concept in the Apostle Paul's letter: adoption. Christians are more than forgiven. We are God's much-loved children. We are co-heirs with Christ. Everything is ours.
Learning to love to read our Bibles is one of the greatest ambitions of our church. For all who are searching for an opportunity to open God's Word and learn alongside fellow brothers and sisters then Sunday School is the place!
Sunday School is where we actively read our bibles together, learn together, and mature together. We meet every Sunday prior to our service in the Woman's Club garden from 9:30-10:15AM.
We are just a couple weeks away from the 5th annual Sovereign Grace Church Chili Cook Off. January 21st immediately following our service.
Traditional chili recipes. Fabulous prizes. And lots of judging.
