On Sunday Pastor Mike preached from Genesis 8:1-19. Noah and his family leave the ark and set foot on a renewed world. This corresponds to the life of every Christian. Those who hide themselves in Christ walk in newness of life now and will one day inhabit a completely renewed cosmos.
It’s quiet around the church offices in Orange because most of us are beach camping at Refugio. The newsletter will be back to normal next week.
This past Sunday Pastor Eric preached the account of the flood from Genesis 7:11-24. Creation is reversed as God floods the world eliminating almost all of the creatures He had made. Yet, God displays His mercy by saving Noah and his family. Salvation always comes through judgment. That was the story in Genesis and that is our story as well.

The class is led by a pastor and hosted in their home. It’s right after church from 12:30pm-2:30pm. Lunch and childcare are provided.
The Intro Course is for any and every guest of Sovereign Grace Church. Whether you've attended for 1 Sunday or 100 Sundays. Whether you're a Christian or not. Whether you want to join as a member or have no idea what membership is.

Registration is open to everyone.
There’s no big program planned. This is kick-back beach camping with friends. Bonfires, swimming, kayaks, surfing, horseshoes, volleyball, fishing, hiking, and eating.
The price includes access to stand-up paddle boards and kayaks that will be shared among the group.
Spots are limited and it’s first come, first serve.
RSVP by emailing Les and Sue. Include the following:
Number of campers in your party and their names
Number of vehicles you’ll be bringing (trailers count as a vehicle)
Which nights you would like to camp
Our July 9th weekly morning prayer meeting is canceled on account of our beach camping trip. But don’t let that stop you! We still encourage you to pray Tuesday morning. God loves to hear your prayers.

This year we’ve challenged you to memorize 12 Bible Verses Every Californian Needs to Know. Each month we provide a Bible verse and you commit it to memory. For those who complete all 12 months, we will throw a party celebrating the ways God has strengthened you through His word.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
8 It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones.
For memorizing, we recommend you read the verse 10 times then recite it 10 times. Do this each day and within a few days it will stick. Learn more about how to memorize Scripture here and here.
Once you have it memorized, recite it for us before the month is over. You have two options:
