Deacon Dave Is Serving In South Korea
IMG-5598.jpg

Working for the prosperity of our sister churches in the Asia-Pacific region

Last night our very own Deacon Dave hopped on a plane to South Korea. He’s part of a team of 13 people from the US who are heading to Seoul to serve our sister church, Lord’s Grace Church, during their annual family camp.

Dave will be there for almost two weeks. Join us in praying for the following:

  • The US team would adapt, stay healthy, and serve in the strength God supplies (1 Pet. 4:11).

  • Wisdom, grace, and effectiveness as Dave and his team teach Bible lessons to children ages 5 through 13.

  • Growing relationships and friendships with the members of Lord's Grace Church.

  • That the members of Lord’s Grace Church would grow and mature and that God would use their gospel witness to save their neighbors.

3 Days To Complete May Bible Memorization Challenge

May’s Verse: Philippians 4:4-7 (ESV)

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

How are you doing memorizing May’s Bible verse?

There are 3 days left in May to complete the challenge for this month. Make sure you show us you’ve memorized it by either:

  1. Recording a video and sending it to info@sovgraceoc.org. You’re on the honor system, but make sure to keep your eyes on the camera.
    OR

  2. Heading to our Welcome Desk on a Sunday morning and reciting it to one of the Connect Team members. After you do, send an email to info@sovgraceoc.org letting us know which Connect Team member you recited it to.

Learn more about how to memorize Scripture here and here.

“I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.”
-Psalm 119:16

Church Budget

We publish updates on our financial status throughout the year. A final annual report is published every Fall.

These figures represent the grace of God at work in the members and friends of our local church. It's unmistakable. God is being kind towards us and we want to thank Him and you.

Thank you.

Of course, numbers are only a small fraction of all the way our church is contributing to the ministry of our church. Wouldn't it be great if we could publish a monthly report on your generous affections for one another? Or all the hours you spend together? Thank you for living no longer for yourselves but for God and your neighbor!

May the accounting of His provisions encourage your faith. Please continue to pray that we would steward it all for the advance of His gospel and the good of His church.

Sept 1st 2018 - April 30th 2019

$ 185,441 Contributions

$ 202,739 Expenses

Questions? Please contact a member of our Finance Committee.

*The numbers above reflect an unusual financial period for Sovereign Grace Church. A few factors have contributed to this including separating out the finances of the Santa Ana church plant. The church is still in very good financial health. The pastors will be discussing this in more detail at the upcoming members meeting.

For The Dreamers

May we be gospel optimists

On Sunday guest preacher Ricky Alcantar, from our sister church in El Paso, preached from Isaiah 2:1-5. He encouraged us to let our dreams be God-sized: peace with all men, joyful unity, and lasting justice. We long for the day Jesus will make these dreams a reality. Until then, we do all we can to live in the good of the gospel today.

Listen to the sermon.

Neighboring At House Of Hope

Being Good Neighbors For Jesus

On 5th Wednesdays throughout the year, the Pickard small group leads a team to serve at House of Hope. They serve a meal and minister to the women and children who live there.

This coming Wednesday, May 29th, we’re extending an invitation for you to join them. Take advantage of this opportunity to be a blessing to neighbors in need.

If you’re interested, contact Jon and he will get you the details.
