SOVEREIGN GRACE CHURCHES

Our prayer focus for October is our denomination, Sovereign Grace Churches.

• Pray for God to meet the leaders of our churches at the pastors conference this week.

• Pray for God to give faith and vision to the leadership team as they lead Sovereign Grace in our mission to make disciples by planting and strengthening local churches.

• Pray for the men and their families currently enrolled in the pastors college, that God would provide for them and equip them for future ministry.

• Pray for God to prosper the work of Sovereign Grace Music as they continue to produce Christ-exalting music for the local church.

• Pray for the US regions of Sovereign Grace to produce and deploy church planters to reach more neighborhoods and cities.

• Pray for wisdom as we establish new partnerships around the globe with churches and church networks that share our values and treasure our gospel.

AUSTRALIA

Our prayer focus for September is the work of our brothers and sisters in Australia.

• Pray for the Pastoral Team of Sovereign Grace Sydney and their families: Dave, Brendan, and Patrick. Pray for wisdom, courage, and compassion.
• Pray for Sovereign Grace Sydney's retreat this weekend from Friday to Sunday. Our very own Pastor Eric will be speaking at it. Pray that God would refresh their congregation and strengthen their bonds with one another.
• Pray for Riley Spring and their ambition to plant a church in the neighborhood of Parramatta in Sydney. Pray that God would supply the people, resources, and opportunities they need.
• Pray that the gospel would progress in Australia and more gospel-proclaiming churches would be planted.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Our prayer focus for August is our Sunday morning services. The importance of these 52 meetings each year cannot be overstated. We need God to meet us every time we meet.

• Pray that our church would look to these meetings with eager anticipation because they are experiencing God's goodness, presence, and care as we gather.
• Pray that God would give the pastors wisdom as they plan and lead our services.
• Pray that the many volunteers -- setup/teardown, musicians, children's ministry, hospitality, greeting -- would be blessed and strengthened in their service.
• Pray that God would use our preaching of the gospel to refresh the church and gather the lost.
• Pray for our preachers -- our pastors, members, and guests -- that they would declare God's word boldly and clearly for our good.
• Pray for the work of the Spirit to be evident in our meetings.
• Pray for our singing to continue to be gospel-centered, God-centered, joyful, and loud.
• Pray for those who are struggling to attend regularly, that God would work in their hearts and their circumstances to enable them to join us.

STUDENTS AND YOUTH

Our prayer focus for June is the students and youth of our community.

• Pray for those in our church graduating from high school and transitioning into college. That God would remain steadfast though their lives are changing in big ways.
• Pray that our faith would be passed down to the elementary and high school students in our church.
• Pray that God would use our church to minister the gospel to students from surrounding universities and colleges: Chapman, Santiago Community College, CSUF, UCI.
• Pray that God would bless the students and teachers in the elementary schools and high schools in Orange.
• Pray that God would use members of our community to care for the approximately 28,000 homeless youth in our county.

WEST REGION CHURCHES OF SOVEREIGN GRACE

Our prayer focus for May are the churches in the Western region of our denomination. These are the churches we partner with most closely to ordain pastors and plant churches.

• Pray that God would bless the 7 other churches in our region: Pasadena, Yuma, Peoria, Gilbert, Tucson, Westminster, and Aurora.
• Pray for a productive time together this week as the pastors from the region gather for their annual meeting.
• Pray that God would empower and sustain the pastors of each church as they labor to serve their congregations and cities.
• Pray for the gospel witness of each church as they faithfully preach the gospel and apply it to their lives.
• Pray that God would add more believers to each of the churches.
• Pray that God would raise up more men as pastors in the Western US.
• Pray that God would provide church planters and help our region identify the next church planting sites.
• Pray that God would give wisdom to the pastors as they make decisions and work together to press our mission forward.

THE CITY OF ORANGE

Our focus for March is the city God has called us to reach: Orange, CA.

• Pray that God would bring revival to Orange, many people who turn to Christ in faith.
• Pray for God to use us to be faithful witnesses to our neighbors.
• Pray for fellow gospel-preaching churches to experience the fruit of faithful gospel ministry.
• Pray for more gospel-preaching churches to be established in Orange.
• Pray for God to be merciful to the homeless, the sick, the lonely, and the hurting in our city.
• Pray for wisdom for our City Council members and other civic leaders.
• Pray for first responders - policemen, firemen, hospital staff.

ORANGE COUNTY

Our focus for February is Orange County and our ambition to see more gospel-proclaiming churches planted. Let's be hungry for God to do what only he can do.

• Pray for God to lead us in finding our next church planting cities/sites.
• Pray for our neighboring cities like Anaheim, Tustin, and Garden Grove, that God would be preparing His harvest.
• Pray for God to raise up church planters and other leaders, both from within our church and from the outside.
• Pray for the churches who are already faithfully making disciples throughout Orange County. Pray for their strength, unity, peace, and faithfulness to the mission.
• Pray for government officials and other civic leaders.

Every year we challenge you to form a new discipline or practice. The last two years we read 12 books in 12 months. In years prior we challenged you to attend church 52 times in one year or to read through the entire Bible in one year.

This year we are challenging everyone to join us in fasting on the first Friday of every month.

We will provide a guide for your prayers each month and some instructions on how and why we should fast together. All members who fast for all 12 Fridays will be invited to a year-end party to celebrate the answers to our prayers.
