A New Small Group Is Forming

“…that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.” -1 John 1:3

Your Ministry Keeps Growing

Small Groups are the backbone of our community life. They’re where we live out all the “one anothers” of the New Testament. They’re the place where we know others and are known by others. They’re discipleship hubs.

As previously announced, we’re beginning another small group in Old Towne Orange! Pastor Dustin and his family will host and lead. It’ll be in the evening on 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month beginning September 6th.

Here are a few reasons you may consider joining:

  1. You’ve been wanting to join a group but have not yet jumped in. (Regular attenders and those getting to know the church are welcome to join.)

  2. You weren’t aware that we had small groups and would like to know more about how and why we do them.

  3. You’ve been inconsistent in your current group and need a group that meets on Friday evenings. (Please touch base with your current small group leader first.)

If you’re interested, contact Pastor Dustin for more info.

We Welcome New Members This Sunday
Bananna-Mei Art

New Member Sunday

This Sunday we welcome new friends into our church. These are individuals God has arranged to be joined to us for our good, the good of our church, and for His glory. They have completed our membership class, been interviewed by our leaders, and are eager to press into the life of our church body.

"But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose." (1 Corinthians 12:18 ESV)

It's one thing to be somewhere, another thing to belong. This is what we communicate when a person becomes a member of our church. We are all agreeing with one another: you belong to us and we belong to you. This church becomes your church as much as any other member of the church.

You belong to us. We belong to you.

You'll need to arrive early that Sunday because parking will be tight. You may be walking a bit further than usual. Show up at 9:30am for Sunday School and you'll have no problem.

Picnic In The Plaza This Sunday

A Delicious Sunday at Sovereign Grace

This Sunday is one of our regularly scheduled plaza invasions. If you’re planning to eat lunch then you are invited. Following our worship service, we will head to Plaza Park for lunch.

Plan to bring your lunch with you to church, purchase take out at any of the restaurants in Old Towne Orange, or take advantage of our world famous Buck-O-Slice Pizza. If you're our guest, pizza is on us.

Please bring a blanket or folding chair.

A Monument To Man's Ambition

The Tower of Babel

On Sunday Pastor Eric preached from Genesis 11:1-9. He reminded us that we are always tempted to build our own kingdom instead of God’s. If humanity combined their efforts we would work harder to rebel against our Maker. But God dispersed us and confused our languages because of His grace — to slow down our rebellion and prepare for Himself a redeemed people from every tribe, tongue, and nation.

Esteem The Prayer Meeting
IMG-0566.jpg

“We will never see much change for the better in our churches in general ‘til the prayer meeting occupies a higher place in the esteem of Christians.”
-Charles Spurgeon

Every Tuesday morning from 6:30am-7:15am we gather for prayer in Old Towne Orange. We pray because we are needy and our God is generous. We pray because the Lord invites us to ask persistently (Matt. 7:7-8). God is using our prayers to accomplish His purposes.

We know not everyone is able to attend. But if you can, make this part of your weekly schedule.

Get all the details here.

We can’t wait to pray with you.
