Our Annual Communion Feast

His body broken
His blood poured out

Join us for our annual Communion Service. We do this once a year on Daylight Savings Sunday. Our morning service is canceled and we gather in the evening for a feast punctuated by the remembrance of the death of Jesus Christ.

March 10th

5:00-7:00PM

This is a family-style meal which means controlled chaos. Kids will be running around. Volunteers will be serving food. And that's ok.

It's an opportunity to make new friends. Plan to sit with people you don't know well or don't know at all.

You Are Helping Us Make the Meal

The church will provide the main dish. Members and regular attenders contribute the following:

  • Households of 1 or 2 people bring a vegetable side or salad.

  • Households of 3 bring mashed potatoes.

  • Households of 4 or more brings mashed potatoes and a dessert.

*Your household is the number of people who will be eating the meal. No need to count infants.

Email the church office if you have any questions.

Last Chance To Complete Bible Memorization For February

February’s Verse: Genesis 1:26-27 (ESV)

26 “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’

27 So God created man in his own image,
    in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.”

We’ve challenged you to memorize 12 Bible verses in 2019. If you’ve yet to complete the verse for February you’re almost out of time.

You’ve Got 2 Days Left!

Prove you completed the Bible memorization challenge for this month by recording a video and sending it to info@sovgraceoc.org. You’re on the honor system, but do your best to keep your eyes on the camera the whole time.

What Were We Made For?

We were made for God.

On Sunday Pastor Eric described a world with only one man in it as he preached from Genesis 2:4-17. God made mankind as the crowning jewel of creation. We were made to be kings, to be priests, and to live forever glorifying our maker and ruling over His creation. That’s what it means to be human.

Listen to the sermon.

Freestyle Chili Cook Off FAQs

Are you ready for the most delicious Sunday at Sovereign Grace Church?

Our 6th annual Freestyle Chili Cook Off is this Sunday! Here’s the lowdown in FAQ form.

1. When is it?

Sunday, February 24, 2019 immediately following the service.

2. How do I participate?

Register your chili here and then come ready to eat and vote for your favorites.

3. What exactly is a "Freestyle" Chili Cook Off?

We don't take ourselves or our chili too seriously. If you call it chili, we will judge you. In the past, the winners have been anything from classic chili to spicy ice cream to chili-decorated cupcakes.

4. What are the categories?

There are three categories: Most Delicious, Spiciest, and Most Creative. No one has won all three with one entry, but you can try!

5. I’m making chili. What do I need to bring?

Bring a serving spoon and an extension cord if you’re bringing a crockpot.

Make enough of your chili for approximately 100 small samples. The church will provide sample cups and spoons.

There is also counter space and a fridge/freezer in the kitchen for storage during the service.

6. Should I bring a lunch?

The chili samples are usually enough food, but you may want to bring lunch if you have a big appetite.

7. What are the prizes?

Entry into our Hall of Chili Champions, a fabulous trophy, and the respect of your fellow churchmen.

Still not sure? Need more ideas? How about ideas from this collection or our own Anne Adam's Alternative Chili Recipe Collection here

8. Is it too late to sign up to bring a chili?

Nope. But we need you to register ASAP so that we have a spot for you.
