Training Another Worship Leader

Wes Hanson

We've already trained Nate and Mike. Now Wes is beginning a 1-year Worship Leader Apprenticeship to develop the skills to lead congregational singing. He'll be studying, learning, playing, and leading. We're grateful he's making this investment to grow as leader who skillfully leads the church to sing God-exalting, Christ-centered songs.

A few things for you, Sovereign Grace Church:

  1. As you see Wes leading, encourage and pray for him.

  2. Pray also that God would bring us more musicians who want to be trained to lead. We want to see churches singing gospel-centered songs all over Orange County. We will need more trained and equipped worship leaders in order for this to happen.

  3. Consider if God might be calling you to serve in this capacity. We are looking for people who want to be trained. If you are interested, email Dustin Smetona.
Get Ready For Street Fair 2018

A Block Party With 500,000 People

Next weekend, Old Towne Orange will be overrun with visitors. And we love it. Live music, food, and a whole street just for the kids.

Make the Street Fair part of your plans for Labor Day weekend.

You'll need to arrive early next Sunday because parking will be tight. Show up at 9:30am for Sunday School and you'll have no problem.

Dylan's Internship Begins

We Train Leaders

At our membership meeting in June, the pastors announced an internship proposal for Dylan. He has accepted and his first day is September 1st.

How can you be involved?

  1. Thank God for Dylan. When you give thanks to God, thank him in particular for Dylan's life. Dylan is already doing a ton: leading a small group, teaching Sunday School, participating in our liturgy, and serving on our audio team. He is having an effect on all of us. This is God's doing and it makes us glad.
  2. Encourage Dylan. As you see him leading and serving, tell him about the impact he is having on your life and the lives of others. Where you see growth, share it with him.
  3. Pray for Dylan. He is making many additional sacrifices to serve us as an intern. Pray that God would give him strength as he serves. Pray that Dylan would grow. Pray that God would bless and prosper his marriage as he gives more of his time to the church.
It Is A Privilege To Lead Sovereign Grace Church

Leadership Retreat 2018 is in the books.

God met our leaders as they engaged in a marathon 12-hour meeting this past Saturday. Thank you for sending them and praying for them. May God bless our ministry in Orange, Santa Ana, and beyond this coming year.

A big thank you to our brothers and sisters at Trabuco Canyon Community Church for hosting the retreat.

Take It Personally

The beginning of the end of Romans.

Pastor Eric preached from Romans 15:14-33 this past Sunday. He reminded us that affirming the grace of God in one another brings God much glory. When we look at each other, we see what God sees: His Son. The things Jesus has called us to do, we do together. The gospel has bound us to one another.
