Luke and Whitney
Men and women worship God together differently.
Pastor Eric preached this past Sunday from 1 Corinthians 11:2-16. Although commonly referred to as the "Head Coverings" passage, it would be a mistake to reduce it down to instructions regarding women's apparel. The Apostle Paul is talking about something way more radical.
Any theology that does not lead to song is, at a fundamental level, a flawed theology. -J.I. Packer
We love singing because we love God. We love God because He first loved us and gave up His Son for us.
Come ready to sing a new song with us this Sunday! Listen above or navigate here to download: http://sovereigngracemusic.org/Songs/Nothing_in_All_the_Earth/38.
Nothing In All The Earth
VERSE 1
What shall separate us from Your love?
Can years of sorrow break eternal bonds?
Can condemnation ever raise its voice
Against the pardon of the blood of Christ?
Though our journey here is long
This will be our triumph song
CHORUS
Nothing in all the earth
Not any height above
Could ever tear us from Your everlasting love Nothing in all the earth
Not any height above
Could ever tear us from Your everlasting love
VERSE 2
What shall separate us from Your love?
For now the sting of death is overcome
And all the powers of this world must fall
Before Your feet because You rule them all
And though our journey here is long
This shall be our triumph song
BRIDGE
Nothing in all the earth
Could ever tear us from
Your everlasting love
"For Jesus so loved Orange that He sent His only Sovereign Grace Church of Orange..."
Pastor Eric preached last Sunday from John 20:19-23, answering the question "Why are we in Orange?"
Pastoral Resident Lucas Enge preached last Sunday on the significance of the ministry of people who stay in order that the gospel might go. He preached from 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10, written to a church whose reputation has spread around the world and spanned two millenniums.
FYI
Our regularly scheduled guest reception for this Sunday is canceled. We had a conflict with another event later the same day hosted by the Woman's Club of Orange.
Thankfully we live in the foodie capital of Orange County. Invite a new friend for lunch this Sunday in Old Towne Orange.
Mother's Day Sermon
Pastor Eric preached last Sunday from Proverbs 31, exhorting the church to do what Proverbs 31 says to do. Let us delight in what God delights in.
