A Place To Serve

Sundays at Sovereign Grace

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace…”
1 Peter 4:10

God has equipped each of us to serve. He has given us experiences, gifts, motivation, and energy. Whether you have an “official” or an “unofficial” assignment, each member is a critical part of our local church. Nothing helps us feel more like part of the church than serving the church.

Sunday mornings provide a number of ways to bless the church with your time and talents. If you’re looking for somewhere to serve, we’d love to find the right spot. Work side-by-side with other brothers and sisters: setting up and tearing down, greeting, and children’s ministry are the big ones, but there are others as well.

If you’re ready to get started, send an email to the church office and we’ll get you connected.

How You End Matters

Proverbs 16:31-17:6

We gather every Sunday to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed. God's Word is preached and the Holy Spirit transforms our hearts. We expect to encounter God and be equipped to better serve him each week.

Thanks to all who missed the sermon because you were serving during the service. We are grateful for you and couldn't have done it without you. Enjoy listening to the recording.

News from the Church Office

This week is a little bit different around the church office and we wanted you to be aware of two ways, in particular, you can be praying.

  1. Pastor Dustin is away on a retreat this Thursday. He’s studying, praying, thinking, and planning for this coming year. Please pray that God would meet him during this time.

  2. Melissa, our administrator, is doing event management for our denomination’s church planters assessment. They’re meeting this weekend at a hotel in Irvine and Melissa will be there through Saturday. A handful of those participating will be visiting our church this Sunday. Ask God to bless the couples who are being assessed and ask God for wisdom for the pastors leading it.

Aussie Visitors and RELAY Conference

An Exciting Start to 2024

Last week, we hosted a group from our sister churches in Australia, Sovereign Grace Church of Wahroonga and Sovereign Grace Church of Parramatta. They were on their way to our denomination’s RELAY Conference in Pennsylvania. Pastor Eric played tour guide through Orange County and L.A. Then they traveled with 7 of our young adults to the conference where God met the next generation of young men and women in our churches. You’ll hear more in our service this Sunday.

Important Changes in Santa Ana

We Love Cross of Grace

If you didn’t know, we have a sister church in Santa Ana we helped plant about 7 years ago. At the beginning of 2024, they’re experiencing two leadership changes we want you to be aware of and praying for.

  1. Jason Roenicke is being ordained as a pastor on January 21st. Pastor Eric will be there representing our church and our denomination. Pray for Jason, his family, and the church as God gives them a new pastor.

  2. As of January 1, 2024, Jeff Schileder is now the Senior Pastor of Cross of Grace. The pastors made this decision together after going through a lengthy process and receiving input from other church leaders. This is a good thing. Pray for Jeff’s transition, pray for Kyle as he settles in his new role as bi-vocational associate pastor, pray for their families, and pray for God to bless the church in this new season.

More details are available on Cross of Grace’s website here.

God is prospering the gospel ministry of our friends in Santa Ana. Let’s pray and expect He will do even more.
