Members and Regular Attenders

Please plan on participating in our regularly scheduled members meeting this Sunday, immediately following our service. Bring your lunch and plan on hearing some important updates regarding our shared ministry: deacons, finances, church planting, and more.

You eat. We talk. 90 minutes max.

This month a new small group formed in the city of Irvine. We took friends from 3 different groups and sent them back to their hometown to reproduce what we are experiencing in other small groups in Orange, Tustin, and Santa Ana.

Here are 4 reasons this group is awesome.

• Pastor Mike and his wife Lois are a part of the group. Why? Because pastors are people too. They need friendship, encouragement, help, and people to serve.
• Four of the households live nearby. They work, shop, live, and play in the same "neighborhood." Geography helps when it comes to doing life together.
• The hosts are first-time hosts. They have never hosted a "christian meeting" in their home before. Way to go Ali and Mina.
• Jesus will be the topic at every meeting, every week, for as long as they are called to be a small group.

Last Sunday our friends from Pillar Bible Church joined a new alliance of churches. This is the church we've shared office space with for the last few years.

Lighthouse Bible Church of Orange County

Members of other Lighthouse churches from all over California came out to witness the event and a number of local pastors participated in their first service, including our Pastor Eric.

If you are a recent guest, first-time attender, just passing through, or have been around a couple weeks but haven't yet been to a guest luncheon, then please be our guest! Join us this Sunday, 10-12-14, immediately following the service, for a luncheon in the Woman's Club Garden.

We'd love to get to know you better.

The format is "come-and-go as you please" and kids are welcome. More info will be available at the service on Sunday. See you then!

Studying what makes a healthy church, a healthy church.

All Junior and Senior High students are invited. Bring your friends and beat them at board games. Because that's what friends are for.

Reformation Sunday - October 26th

Every year we set aside the last Sunday of October to thank God for his faithfulness. We call it Reformation Sunday. A day to celebrate the answer to the Apostle Paul's prayer...

"I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you..." (Ephesians 1:16ff ESV)

Inevitably, our reflections always turn towards a period of church history we call The Reformation. We read creeds and remember and reflect on the truths that were guarded and promoted during this time. We acknowledge that we stand on the teachings and work of generations of godly men and woman.

This month we are celebrating all month long. Each Sunday will include an element from the Reformation (ex. creed, confession of faith, etc.). And mark your calendars for the big church picnic at the end.
