Run With Us

Wednesday Mornings

The Old Towne Joggers are pounding the pavement every Wednesday morning for a short run in our neighborhood. We end each run with a cup of coffee. It’s a simple way to make connections in our city. If you’re a runner (or want to be), join us early next Wednesday morning. Details and email sign-up are available here. You can also follow them on Instagram to stay updated.

Run with us in a 5k

If Wednesday mornings don’t work, you can join us the Saturday before Easter for a 5k. We’re partnering with the French Park Run Club in Santa Ana and running together. Email Dustin if you’re interested.

Get Ready for Our Communion Service

Communion Service 3/10 at 5pm

Every year on Daylight Savings Sunday we hold a special service. On Sunday, March 10th we’ll celebrate our annual Communion Service at the Woman’s Club. Our regular morning service is canceled and we gather for a meal at 5pm. We will eat, talk, laugh, sing, and, most importantly, reflect on the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ.

This is a potluck so we need your help to make it happen! See below for what to bring and other questions you may have. If you would like to help out or have additional questions, contact Sue Card.

FAQS

What should I bring?

  • Households of 1 or 2, bring a side (green salad, mashed potatoes, macaroni salad, etc.).

  • Households of 3 or 4, bring an entree.

  • Households of 5 or more, bring a side and an entree.

  • We’re counting on volunteers for dessert. If you want to bring something sweet to share, please do!

Is a baby/toddler included in my household size?

If you expect your child to eat the food with us, please count them.

Will there be childcare?

No. We’ll be together the entire time, so don't feel bad about getting up and down from your seat with your children. Think of it like a family dinner.

Who should take communion?

All who have trusted in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins whether members or guests. Click here to read our beliefs about communion.

How can I keep my dish warm?

Plan to bring your crockpot. You’ll be able to plug it in at the buffet table.

I have special dietary needs. Will there be food for me to eat?

This is a potluck so everyone is contributing. We would advise you to bring something you know you can eat.

Are guests and regular attenders welcome?

Yes! We would love for all to join us.

What Do We Do With This Treasure Chest?

We’re in the middle of Church Appreciation Month. Once-a-year we celebrate the blessing of belonging to a church. At Sovereign Grace, we describe you using four words: joyful, generous, ordinary, neighbors. This past Sunday, we highlighted generosity. You’re a generous church. God is glorified by it. We are blessed by it.

As one simple way to train our kids the joy of generosity, we passed out treasure chests to the kids in our church. Here’s what we’re asking them to do:

  1. Over the next few weeks, collect coins and put them in the chest.

  2. Once it’s full, bring it on a Sunday or drop by the church office and turn it in.

  3. Get it to us by Easter Sunday, March 30th.

  4. After that date, the church office will count up the coins and donate the money to a local charity that we support, the House of Hope: https://www.rescuemission.org/house-of-hope/.

If you have any questions, contact the church office and we’ll get you the answers you need.

Thank you for being generous people.

Do You Need to Be Healed?

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him.”
James 5:14 ESV

At our monthly prayer service next Tuesday, we’re setting aside time to pray for any among us who are sick. Do you have a chronic illness? An upcoming surgery or procedure? Unexplained symptoms?

God doesn’t promise to heal every illness, but He does call His people to pray for every illness. We’d like to pray for you in faith. We’re setting aside 1 hour at our prayer service to do just that.

So come this Tuesday, 2/13/2024, from 7:00pm-8:00pm to receive prayer and pray for others. We’re full of faith that God plans to work through our prayers.
