Update Regarding Sunday Services

As of Tuesday, June 15th California has entered the next reopening phase. Capacity restrictions and physical distancing requirements are gone, and the mask mandate has been modified. We’re sure you’re wondering what this means for our church services. We have a few updates to share with you:

  1. We’re continuing to meet outdoors for the Summer. There’s no mask or physical distancing requirements outdoors. Plus, we have a great spot to meet in the Woman’s Club garden! We’ll re-visit this decision when we get to the Fall.

  2. We have a new inclement weather policy. If rain or wind or heat or smoke make an outdoor service untenable, we will hold an indoor service and follow the government guidance regarding masks.

  3. We’re re-implementing our mid-service break. Beginning this Sunday, June 20th, families utilizing our childcare will keep their kids with them the first half of the service and then be dismissed before the sermon.

Our pastors are watching the developments and will keep you informed about any further impact to our meetings. If you have questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help.

May God continue to bless our fellowship!

Radical Evil and Radical Sovereignty

Where was God?

On Sunday Pastor Dustin preached from Genesis 34. He reminded us that radical evil is in our world and inside of us. Yet God exercises His radical sovereignty in this wicked world. God uses evil to triumph over evil. This comes into clearest view at the cross. Evil did its worst to the Son of God. And God used their evil acts to defeat evil.

We Are Members

Membership is a key feature of our church. We practice it because it’s biblical, it provides a context for ministry, and it leaves nobody wondering whether or not Sovereign Grace Church is their church.

Our approach to membership is straightforward. It’s outlined right here.

If you’re a regular attender considering membership, we welcome you to contact the church office so that we can help you discern if God is calling you to join with us. We’re available to answer any and all of your questions.

May God be glorified as He faithfully builds His church in Orange.

Daniel Leading Worship

Raising Up the Next Church Leaders in Orange County

Daniel led worship for the first time this past Sunday. It was a joy to sing with him leading us! We’re grateful to God for his heart to serve and his gifts. We’re grateful that God is entrusting to us more leaders we can train and deploy. Daniel is an answer to our prayers.

A Tough Text

Real and Raw

The Bible is written to people who live in the real world of sin and pain. Authored by the God who knows and sees, its pages are filled with raw human experiences. Yet each part reveals how He saves us from this broken world. Our sermon text for this Sunday, Genesis 34, reflects this reality. It contains a grieving account of sexual assault.

Many in our neighborhood, and likely many inside of our church, have been the victim of this heinous sin. As you come this Sunday we wanted to provide you the opportunity to prepare your heart. If you need a listening ear, our pastors are available ahead of time to listen to you, pray for you, and care for you. Don’t hesitate to contact us.
