Youth Group On Valentine's Day

All junior and senior high students are invited to join our Youth Group this coming Thursday. Pastor Eric is leading the group on a special Valentine’s Day activity. You won’t want to miss it!

Thursday, February 14th
7:00pm at the church office

Email Lisa B for more info and to let us know you’re coming.

A Jam Session Open To All Musicians

The worship team exists to lead the church in singing the gospel for God's glory and our joy. In doing this, we want to make musicians who love the Lord and want to use their musical gifts in service to the church. That's where you come in.

Musicians of all ages and skill levels are invited to join us the 2nd Thursday of each month to play.

Whether you're just starting to strum the 4 chords you know on the guitar or you're a classically-trained pianist, you're invited to come play with us during our once-per-month rehearsal. The entire worship team is there. We learn about worship, we work on our musicianship, and we grow as a team.

You can just observe. You can jump in and play along. Ask for help on your instrument. You are welcome to participate however you like.

If you've ever wondered about serving on the worship team, this is for you.
If you've never thought about serving on the team but are a musician and want the opportunity to play, this is for you.

The next one is happening Thursday 2/14/2019 from 7pm-9pm in Orange.

Contact Pastor Dustin for more details.

Freestyle Chili Cook Off FAQs

Our 6th annual Freestyle Chili Cook Off is a couple Sundays away! Here are some common questions and answers to get you ready.

1. When is it?

Sunday, February 24, 2019 immediately following the service.

2. How do I participate?

Register your chili here and then come ready to vote for your favorites.

3. What exactly is a "Freestyle" Chili Cook Off?

We don't take ourselves or our chili too seriously. If you call it chili, we will judge you. In the past, the winners have been anything from classic chili to spicy ice cream.

4. What are the categories?

There are three categories: Most Delicious, Spiciest, and Most Creative. No one has won all three with one entry, but you can try!

5. I’m making chili. What do I need to bring?

Bring a serving spoon and an extension cord if you’re bringing a crockpot.

Make enough of your chili for approximately 100 samples. The church will provide sample cups and spoons.

6. Should I bring a lunch?

The chili samples are usually enough food, but you may want to bring lunch if you have a big appetite.

7. What are the prizes?

Entry into our Hall of Chili Champions, a fabulous trophy, and the respect of your fellow churchmen.

Still not sure? Need more ideas? How about ideas from this collection or our own Anne Adam's Alternative Chili Recipe Collection here

8. Is it too late to sign up?

Nope. But we need you to register ASAP so that we have a spot for you.

Our Annual Communion Feast

His body broken
His blood poured out

Join us for our annual Communion Service. We do this once a year on Daylight Savings Sunday. Our morning service is canceled and we gather in the evening for a feast punctuated by the remembrance of the death of Jesus Christ.

March 10th

5:00-7:00PM

This is a family-style meal which means controlled chaos. Kids will be running around. Volunteers will be serving food. And that's ok.

It's an opportunity to make new friends. Plan to sit with people you don't know well or don't know at all.

The church will provide the main dish. Members and regular attenders contribute the following:

  • Households of 1 or 2 people bring a vegetable side or salad.

  • Households of 3 bring mashed potatoes.

  • Households of 4 or more brings mashed potatoes and a dessert.

*Your household is the number of people who will be eating the meal. No need to count infants.

Email the church office if you have any questions.

The price includes access to stand-up paddle boards and kayaks that will be shared among the group.

Spots are limited and it’s first come, first serve. You can come for all or part of the week.

RSVP by emailing Les and Sue. Include the following:

  1. Number of campers in your party and their names

  2. Number of vehicles you’ll be bringing (trailers count as a vehicle)

In The Beginning

God Sets the Stage for His Glory

On Sunday Pastor Eric preached the first verse of the first book in the Bible, Genesis 1:1. He reminded us that the most important thing about creation is that it happened. God is the answer to the quest to explain why there is a universe in the first place. That He created is the very foundation of all knowledge. We know something about everything. What do we know? It’s all for His glory.
