Thanks For Giving in 2013

Last year was a great year and if you made a donation to help make it happen, thank you!

Your partnership in our shared ministry is bearing good fruit. So much fruit, in fact, that we're beginning to forget much of what happened only 12 months prior!

So be refreshed as we recount some highlights. FYI...this cover letter was sent with you 2013 Donations receipt.

A few of you have asked recently about how to make donations to the church online. Including our own Pastor Mike! Ha! We obviously have done a great job hiding this from most of you...

The link to give online is always on the sidebar of the Connect Blog.

Member Meeting Recap
member meeting.jpg

Thanks for making a boring ol' church member meeting so happy. It's hard to describe what it feels like to be part of a church that feels more "family" than it does institutional or an event.

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion!

For there the Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore. (Psalm 133 ESV)

  1. Our pastors shared the purpose behind the 52 SUNDAYS project...more joy on Sundays, more help reaching our guests, and the correlation they've observed between Sunday attendance and a host of spiritual concerns.

  2. We published our first Church Membership Roll. Pastor Eric informed us of plans to regularly update the list, to notify any member we remove (in writing), and about the unpublished "Care List".

  3. Pastor Mike presented a financial update and encouraged us to be prepared for greater opportunities to give in the future. It appears we will soon have "more ministry than money."

  4. Pastor Eric presented a proposal for establishing a Deaconate Ministry. We were asked to review it and provide feedback to the pastoral team by March 1, 2014. (Click here for the Deaconate Ministry Proposal)

Last Minute Gifts

Thank you for being a generous church throughout 2013. We've seen God meet us in spectacular ways and it feels as if the more we give (money, time, affections, gifts) the more He does.

"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work." (2 Corinthians 9:6-8 ESV)

If you are considering a year-end financial gift to the church, please be sure we receive it by December 31st (mail must be postmarked by this date). Instructions on how to donate to the church can be found at the link below.

Thanksgiving Morning Fun

Every year on Thanksgiving morning we play together. But this year we seem to be veering off from our tradition. No Flag Football...this year it's soccer (or as we like to call it "Un-American Football").

HART PARK, BASEBALL FIELDS, 8:30 AM, THANKSGIVING DAY

We will play for a few hours. All ages, skill levels, and guests are welcome to join in the action. Or just bring a cup of coffee and cheer on the competitors!

Financial Statements

Your pastors (along with our Finance and Law Committee) are pleased to present our year end Financial Reports.

We hope they encourage you and provide the information you need to participate in our shared ministry. Our goal isn't to overwhelm you with numbers. We are inviting you to join us in wondering at the grace of God being worked out among us.

God has been good to us. We don't have much, but what we do have is being leveraged in glorious ways. Thank you for living for Jesus. You are a beautiful church.
