Inviting Friends To Small Group

The Card Group...

Our small group welcomed special visitors from Dubai this week.  It was the last night of Norooz (the Persian New Year) and Ali and Mina's extended family spent the evening with us feasting on burgers in our backyard.

The kids played games, rode the zip line, and hunted for Easter eggs. Chocolate is truly the international language.

The adults talked non stop.

We were delighted to hear that Californians are much friendlier those they encountered in other states. We were encouraged to hear gratitude expressed for the way we have adopted Ali and Mina into our church family. We swapped parenting tips, learned more about the traditional foods served for Norooz, and talked about camping and hummingbirds. What is it about balmy California evenings with good friends and good food?

Our new friends head for home on Sunday but are planning to come back and go camping with us next summer.

The Story Of God At Work In Us

Mission Video

Pray for this guy. He's got mad skills, a crazy camera, and the task of producing a short mission video for us and our sister churches. Don't be surprised if the camera is out during a few Sunday services. And don't flash any gang signs :)

We want to tell the whole world.

…you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. (1 Thessalonians 1:7-8 ESV)

Church Budget

Every month we publish an update on our church budget. These figures represent the grace of God at work in the members and friends of our local church...but only in part! Wouldn't it be great if we could publish a monthly report on your generous affections for one another, service to one another, or just time spent with one another? Thank you for living no longer for yourselves but for God and your neighbor!

Guest Reception This Sunday

Lunch is on us.

If you are a recent guest, first-time attender, just passing through, or have been around for a couple weeks but haven't yet been to a guest luncheon, then please be our guest! Join us this Sunday, 03-22-15, immediately following the service, for a luncheon in the Woman's Club Garden.

We'd love to get to know you better.

The format is "come-and-go as you please" and kids are welcome. More info will be available at the service on Sunday. See you then!

All-You-Can-Eat Donut Buffet

"I ate too many donuts on Easters," said no one never.

We love to make memories on Easter Sunday. It's the perfect day to celebrate our new shared life together, as we celebrate the indestructible life of Jesus. This year we bring you the worst-best-gastrological idea yet...

The All-You-Can-Eat Donut Buffet*

Join us during the Sunday School hour (class is canceled on Easter) for donuts and fellowship. Invite your friends if they are donut-friendly. The early bird gets the chocolate sprinkles.

*Parents, please supervise your own children. We aren't responsible for spontaneous donut meltdowns. :)

This Is Happening All over Our City This Week

Small Groups this week.

We believe God intends for us to live our lives together, as a community of individuals drawn to one another on account of our relationship with God. We are one body because we are one with Christ.

One of the ways we do this as a local church is through our Small Group Ministry. This ministry isn't just one option among many ministries of the church, this is THE ministry.

Big meetings. Small Meetings.

Our life together is organized into two primary contexts. Our big meetings are our Sunday services. Our small meetings are our small groups. You can get to know us in either context, but eventually you'll find yourself missing half of everything if you only attend one and not the other.
