Why Did God Allow Polygamy?
A question we must answer as we read our Bibles.
As we’ve been preaching through Genesis we’ve bumped into the practice of polygamy among God’s people. That seems to be at odds with Scripture’s teaching that marriage is between one man and one woman (Gen. 2:18-25, Matt. 19:4-6, Eph. 5:22-33). But is it? The Bible is commonly critiqued for inconsistencies on ethical issues like this one.
