Chili Cook Off FAQ
Are you ready for Sunday? Here are some common questions and answers regarding our 4th Annual Freestyle Chili Cook Off.
1. When is it?
This coming Sunday immediately following our service. August 28.
2. How do I participate?
Register your chili here. and then come ready to vote for your favorites.
3. What is a "freestyle" cook off?
We don't take ourselves or our chili too seriously. If you call it chili, we will judge you. In the past, the winners have been anything from classic chili to spicy ice cream.
4. What are the categories?
There are three categories: Hottest Chili, Most Unusual Chili, and Best Chili. No one has won all three with one entry, but you can try!
5. How much chili should I bring?
Contestants should bring enough of your chili for approximately 80 samples. The church will provide sample cups and spoons.
Please note everyone brings their own lunch. The chili is for competing, not eating. This event is BYO lunch.
6. Where can I plug in my crockpot?
During the service you can use the outlets in the Woman's Club kitchen.
7. What are the prizes?
Entry into our Hall of Chili Champions, a fabulous trophy, and the respect of your fellow churchmen.
